The current COVID-19 pandemic has forced everyone to stay indoors and follow the necessary precautions to curb the spread of the virus. It has also led businesses to either not operate at all or operate by taking preventive measures that the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention has suggested.
Non-essential businesses such as schools, restaurants, malls, air-travel, etc. are not operating during this critical time. However, essential services are running but by following preventive steps to protect themselves and their valued customers from COVID-19.
Tow services are considered essential services as they provide towing and roadside assistance to people in need. This means that we, at Expedite Towing, are open and available round the clock to support our customers in every way possible while ensuring they remain safe and healthy during COVID-19.
Here are the steps we have been following to limit the exposure of COVID-19:
- We are closely monitoring the situation and our staff so that if we anticipate any impact on our center or staff, we can proactively take steps to ensure your safety.
- We have the necessary safeguard and contingency plans in place in case our staff gets affected by COVID-19.
- Our staff is taking every preventive action to ensure their safety and curb the spread of the virus. This includes washing hands regularly, wearing a face mask and disposable surgical gloves, maintaining distance from customers and each other, and others provided by the CDC.
- We are not currently providing ride-along service to keep you safe and healthy. Instead, we provide you with a sanitized vehicle to reach home safely while we tow your vehicle.
- We are and will continue to follow recommendations by the CDC and WHO to ensure the safety and health of our priced customers until business operations return to normal.
- We sanitize our towing trucks and staff vehicles regularly to leave no room for the spread of the virus. This is in line with the CDC’s recommendation to “perform routine environmental cleaning.”
Steps we advise customers to take:
- Wash your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. If soap is unavailable, use an alcohol-based rub to sanitize your hands
- Avoid touching your face, mouth, eyes, especially with unsanitary hands
- Maintain social distance, especially when you step outside or when our staff reaches out to you for roadside assistance
- Stay home and only step outside to get essential items and medical attention
- Wear a mask, especially when going to crowded places
- Avoid public transport and places
- Seek medical attention if you show signs of COVID-19 such as fever, cough, tiredness, and shortness of breath
- Do not ride along with our tow truck drivers while your vehicle is being towed. Instead, drive our vehicle to reach to your destination
Until COVID-19 is under control, we will continue to operate and help our customers get out of roadside emergencies whenever possible. To keep our customers safe, we will also continue to take every precaution possible, as recommended by the CDC. We will update you if we anticipate any impact of the situation on our center and staff. Till then, stay home and stay safe.
